Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

Harrison Township Puff back

Our customer called us after they had a puff back due to a furnace malfunction. The multi-room fully finished basement had a light coating of soot on all surfaces. The small HVAC room was unfinished, and in the pictures, you can see the soot webs that formed between the ceiling joists. Soot webs form during fires when the hot turbulent air collides with dirt and cool wall surface temperature and generally form where two surfaces meet. Cleaning after a puff bag, big or small is not a simple job as fine soot particles can penetrate even the smallest of area.  Specialty chemicals are needed to clean the buildings structure and the contents.
