This crawlspace had excess moisture due to a furnace that was being exhausted directly into the crawlspace rather than up a chimney and also from a slow leak in a supply line in laundry room, thus creating visual discoloration. In the before picture, take note of the staining on the joists and insulation. Our team removed all the old wet and discolored insulation, cleaned all joists, and properly dried the structure. Once everything was dry, we encapsulated the wood and installed new insulation. The homeowners were happy with the results and the new insulation will help lower their heating and cooling costs.
